A letter to the Boston runners

on April 15, 2013

Hey guys! I know a ton of you won’t be reading this for a while, what with being in the middle of one of the countries biggest races and what not πŸ™‚ but I just wanted to let you guys know really quickly that I think you guys are just so awesome!

Now, I know that right now you’re probably exhausted, with sore legs and burning lungs and you’re wondering why you did this – you did it because you’re a runner, and by doing this I can promise you you’re inspiring someone in your life. Because what you’re doing takes determination, strength, patience, and that’s not something everyone has, so be proud.

As a beginning runner (do you ever wonder when to stop calling yourself this?) I look at the distance you’re running in awe. But there you are! Running it. And it shouldn’t matter how long it takes you – although good luck to all those trying to PR this race πŸ™‚ – because take a minute to see where you are. REALLY see it.

You’re in one of the founding cities of this country. You’re with thousands of running friends. You’re sharing the legacy of this race with all who have and will run it. And you’re running a freaking marathon. Mad props πŸ˜€

Sleepy puppy wishes you nothing but luck!!
