Fit-Crushing HARD on Jillian Michaels

I know, right? Me and every other female fittie on the planet. But, as I was at the gym today and decided I’d rather watch old seasons of Biggest Loser than listen to the Jillian Michaels podcast and read the most recent article about her in Health magazine, I realized that maybe it was just about time I came out with my absolute love for this great woman of health. Not only do I find her to be an inspiration as a fit-to-fat story, but the more I listen to her on her podcast, the more I appreciate how no-nonsense she is and the more I think that she’d be a really positive person to spend time around. Alright. I’m done ranting about my Jillian love.

When I got of work at 6:00, it was time to run errands, head by the bank, and then run home enough to scarf down one of these bad boys

before throwing on my stretchy pants and hitting the gym! I think that going home between work and the gym was just a bad idea, though, because by the time I got shoes on and food eaten, my feelings about the gym could be generally expressed as

The entire drive up there I couldn’t decide if I wanted to do a bunch of killer incline walking, or bust it up with cardio on the elliptical – so I did a bit of both! I’m in no mood to make any kind of decision tonight, for some reason (which is a theme you’ll see pop up again in just a minute), so I just rolled with it and did 25 minutes on each machine. I wasn’t even mentally ready to plan my own routine, so I just hit “hill” on both machines, entered my weight, time, and level, and zoned out.

I have to tell you, I think that these Star Trac treadmills and I may be about to become BEST FRIENDS (way more friendly than with the silly Precor machines next door). Wanna know why? Care to wager a guess? It’s because the Star Trac machines come with this handy-dandy button

Pardon my gross, polish-less nails. After the cardio, I was running a bit low on time, so I decided to skip the full toning routine and just hit the basics

15 single-arm kettle bell swings with 8 pounds (each arm, three sets)

10 push ups (on my knees, three sets)

25 crunches/reverse crunches holding medicine ball (8lbs)

And then I was out the door! Mark should be off by 10, and we’re having sweet mesquite pork chops and chicken flavored rice. That’s right. Pork. And chicken rice. Remember earlier when I mentioned not being able to make up my mind about, well, just about anything? I came home, got un-sweaty, looked at the pantry, and wanted to cry. I just couldn’t do. I seemed to be out of everything I wanted to make, out of time for pretty much all of my Plan B backups, and that’s why, dear friends, we’re having pork and chicken rice for dinner. Double points for covering both white meats?

Tomorrow: more in-law adventures and maybe, fingers crossed, a new iPhone?!
